A pair of Sigourney-Keota Cobras will be at Wells Fargo Arena this week in the class 1A state tournament after advancing through Saturday’s district tournament at Pleasantville. SK finished fourth in the team standings with 57 points, New London won the team district title with 92 points. Cade Molyneux stood atop the podium at 170lbs beating Chase Darst of I-35 by 13-3 major decision in the opening and Boden Pickle of New London by 7-4 decision in the championship match.
Cade Striegle was runner-up at 195lbs. He pinned Logan Montgomery of SE Warren to open the tournament before falling to Currey Jacobs of New London in the championship match. Daniel McLaughlin at 126lbs, Reid Molyneux at 132lbs, Jack Clarahan at 160lbs, and Aiden Schuster at 182lbs all just missed qualifying by placing third.
