Two occupants were uninjured in a house fire Monday morning in Washington.

Washington Fire Chief Brendan DeLong says firefighters were called to 621 North 2nd Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. and were able to contain the fire to the upstairs of the home. He says the fire was out in less than an hour and the cause appears to be electrical in nature. DeLong says two people were in the house at the time of the fire, but both evacuated with no injuries. A damage estimate was unavailable. Washington County Ambulance, Washington Police, Washington County Emergency Management, and Alliant Energy also responded to the scene.
