For the first time in several months zero long-term care outbreaks are reported in Washington County, which was communicated at the Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.
County Public Health Administrator Danielle Pettit-Majewski informed the supervisors that some changes have been made to the state coronavirus website this week, now focusing more on the number of COVID-19 positive tests than individuals, though she can provide the supervisors with more specific information if requested. Another COVID-19 death was also confirmed in Washington County, bringing its total to 44, and no patients are currently hospitalized in the county. Pettit-Majewski mentioned that the vaccine clinic held for the Washington Community School District and St. James Catholic School last Friday was successful, administering 280 doses, as well as a successful 65 year and older public clinic at the Washington YMCA Monday which administered 350 doses. She added that the county has a second dose clinic scheduled this week, and they will be vaccinating staff at the Highland and Mid-Prairie school districts on Wednesday and Friday.
