The Sigourney girls’ bowling team saw their season come to a close on Thursday when they traveled to the Rose Bowl in Muscatine for a class 1A state qualifying meet.
The Savages were without top bowler Hannah Alderson and placed fifth out of six teams with a two-game score of 1112. Louisa-Muscatine was the automatic qualifier with 2113 pins. Sam Bombei led Sigourney in 19th with a 272 series where she bowled a 128 first game and improved with a 144 in the second. Other two-game scores included Lily Van Voltenburg 221, Kaylee Visser 221, Emma Seifert 218, and Dana O’Neill 180. Baker scores included 145, 85, 146, and 101.
The Savages finished 3-7 in single duals this year and only lose one bowler to graduation in O’Neill.
