The Sigourney and Washington boys’ bowling teams ended their season last week at the Rose Bowl in Muscatine when they competed at a class 1A state qualifying meet.
The Savages finished eighth out of 10 teams with a two-game series score of 1694. Louisa-Muscatine was the automatic qualifier placing first with 2188. Freshman Brock Alderson paced Sigourney in 14th with a 213 first game and a 204 second to knock down 417 pins in total. Other scores included Corren Freel 370, Ty Krueger 342, Drew Dobbins 295, Gable Goff 270, and Jordan Shadley 246. Baker scores for the team included 167, 160, 159, 171, and 146.
Washington was one bowler down from a full team score and placed 10th with 1331. Freshman Caleb Zieglowsky led the squad in 16th with a 200 and 205 game to finish with a 405 series. Other finishes included Ethan Zieglowsky 319, Aidan Miller 287, Erika Williams 166, and Zakkary Hesseltine 154. Baker scores included 147, 157, 111, 117, and 93.
The Savages conclude the season 12-14 and bring everyone back next season. The Demons finish 1-37 and say goodbye to one senior in Hesseltine.
