Three more COVID-19 deaths have been confirmed in Washington County since Tuesday, bringing its total to 47.
The state dashboard showed Thursday that Washington County has a total of 2,537 positive tests, while statewide the total number of deaths is 5,415 with 361,764 positive tests. For the current influenza season, the most recent data from the Iowa Department of Public Health shows there have been five deaths statewide. The state dashboard has made some changes in the last week, no longer showing the number of recovered cases nor does it have the school-related page showing the 14-day average positive test percentage by county. The only contiguous county that has confirmed another death in the last week is Johnson with 73 total. Louisa has 41, Henry has 35, Jefferson has 32, Keokuk has 29, and Iowa has 23 deaths.
