The Washington City Council approved setting a public hearing on a proposed subdivision development agreement Tuesday.
City Administrator Brent Hinson informs that Matnic, LLC. wishes to purchase all nine lots in Plat 1 of the NLW Subdivision, and is also very interested in Plat 2. Matnic is owned by Matt Lepic who is also a broker associate for Lepic-Kroeger Realtors. He seeks to build three homes initially, and then start additional builds as the homes sell. He wishes not to have more than two unsold homes at a time. Matnic has made a full asking price offer of $207,850 on the lots, and would agree to resell lots to other interested parties as requested. Hinson and Council Member Danielle Pettit-Majewski both spoke in support of the proposal, while Council Member Elaine Moore was concerned about this eliminating individual opportunities to purchase the lots. The council approved to set a public hearing for March 16th, as Matnic hopes to close by March 31st so construction can begin as soon as possible.
