A Brighton man was recently ordered to serve seven days in jail for violating his probation.

Twenty-seven year-old Jessy Lee Armstrong was arrested on February 16th for violating his probation on an original conviction of dominion of a firearm by a domestic abuse offender, a class D felony, and domestic abuse assault second offense, a serious misdemeanor. Court documents show that Armstrong pleaded guilty to violating his probation, and was sentenced to serve seven days in the Washington County Jail, with credit for time served. He must also pay court costs of the proceeding, and restitution for attorney fees. Armstrong was given a suspended five-year prison sentence to serve five years probation on February 21, 2020 for the original offenses that occurred on October 26, 2019.
