A monstrous senior season on the hardwood means plenty of postseason accolades for Sigourney’s Kaylee Weber.
The South Iowa Cedar League recently released its All Conference girls’ basketball teams and Weber highlighted four Savages on the list. The 5’10’’ post player was a unanimous first team selection in the league. No one found the back of the net more often than Weber, as her 19.5 points a night led the conference and her 6.9 defensive boards also ranked first. She connected on 54% of her shots, brought in 10.8 total rebounds a game, and led the team with 20 blocks on the season.
Carly Goodwin was the only freshman recognized on all conference being named to the second team. The 5’9’’ guard was the team’s second leading scorer with 8.6 points a contest and shot the three-ball at a 32% clip. She dished out 38 assists and created 39 steals. Joselyn Abell and Rain Barthelman were recognized as honorable mention. Abell averaged 5.7 points and 4.5 rebounds while Barthelman led the squad with 56 steals.
Sigourney finished with an 18-6 overall record, their fifth straight 18-win season.
