A Riverside man is sentenced to serve 30 days in the Washington County Jail for violating his sex offender registration.
Court records show that through a plea agreement 63-year-old Dennis Blaine Alcala was convicted of an aggravated misdemeanor for his first offense and he must serve jail time with credit for time served following his arrest. Alcala must pay pecuniary damages, a fine of $855 with a 15 percent surcharge, and category B restitution. Alcala was arrested on December 1st after he was found to have changed addresses from Coralville to Riverside and purchased a new vehicle which were both not reported with authorities. He has been registered as a sex offender since 2012 for a child pornography possession conviction.
