Washington County voters cast their ballots earlier this week for three special elections.
For the Board of Supervisors District 3 race, 148 of the 3,192 registered voters in the district participated, or 4.64%. The Ainsworth Elementary Building precinct saw a greater percentage turnout with 10.62% compared to the Brighton Community Building precinct which had 8.82%. Twenty-two ballots were cast absentee. For the Washington City Council Ward 3 race, 183 voters participated of the 1,325 registered, or 13.81%. Of those ballots 136 were cast at the precinct and 47 were cast absentee. In the Highland School District’s Physical Plant and Equipment Levy election, 269 of the 2,879 registered voters participated, or 9.34%. Eleven of the ballots cast were absentee, 166 ballots were cast at the Ainsworth precinct, and 92 were cast at the Riverside precinct.
