The Washington School Board approved several technology-related items during their regular meeting Wednesday.
Technology Director Jeff Brock and Assistant Technology Director John TeBockhorst gave an update on what they’ve accomplished since last summer, including a high school intercom upgrade, replacement of the elementary Chromebooks, a firewall system upgrade, and a new hands-free time and attendance system for employees. The board then approved their fiscal year 2022 plan, which includes replacement of the high school staff and students’ laptops, and selling the old devices which are expected to cover about 30% of the purchase. The board also approved a three-year lease agreement with Apple Financial Services for purchase of the new computers, at a cost of $688,865. They also reviewed the three quotes received from recycling vendors for purchasing the old computers, and approved the technology staff’s recommendation to accept the highest quote from Total Technology, with a minimum guaranteed amount of $192,898.80.
