The evenings will look brighter as we turn our clocks forward one hour Saturday night for the start of Daylight Saving Time.
We officially lose one hour of sleep at 2 a.m. Sunday morning when clocks jump forward, and then we’ll gain that hour back at 2 a.m. November 7th. While you’re changing the clocks around your home, it’s also a recommended time to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Besides smoke alarms that have non-replaceable 10-year batteries, the National Fire Protection Association advises that smoke alarms with other batteries should be replaced at least once a year.
