Former Columbus Community/Winfield-Mt. Union wrestling star Jarod Kadel has seen some mat time this year for a division I powerhouse program.
The redshirt freshman competes for the #6 ranked and 10-0 Oklahoma State Cowboys. The 149 pounder recently saw his first action of the season at the Cowboy Challenge where he went 1-2. He won his first match by a 9-6 decision, but fell in the last two by fall and a 16-2 major decision. In his redshirt year last winter, Kadel competed in a few tournaments and finished the campaign 6-5. The 2019 Winfield-Mt. Union graduate compiled a 143-15 high school record and collected three state medals.
The Cowboys now gear up for the NCAA Wrestling Championships this weekend in St. Louis, Missouri.
