There’s a few days left to sign up for the remaining scheduled Quarantine Kitchen event hosted by Main Street Washington.
The public can sign up to either pick up a meal kit of the ingredients from the Main Street Washington office or receive the ingredient list and “Bring Your Own Groceries” to cook alongside local chef Cory Evans and restaurateur Jaron Rosien as they cook a Thai basil chicken stir fry live over Zoom. Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt says that during past events participants have been able to cook alongside the program whether they were watching it live or the recorded video afterwards, “They go really slow, they explain what they’re doing, they explain why they’re doing things. It’s a lot of fun, it’s not stiff at all, they’re not super-rehearsed. It’s pretty just off-the-cuff and very simple and you’re just cooking along with someone who loves food.”
Quarantine Kitchen takes place at 6 p.m. Monday, March 22nd, and the proceeds from these events go toward Main Street, as they’ve had to modify many other fundraising events in the past year due to COVID-19. For a link to register visit here.
