The Washington boys and girls track teams traveled to Mount Pleasant’s Mapleleaf Athletic Complex Tuesday afternoon for a scrimmage with the Panthers, Burlington and West Burlington Notre Dame. In total, the Demons won gold in four events.

Three event titles belong to the Washington boys. The Demons went 1-2-3 in the 100m with Jacob Miller taking the title in 12.11 seconds, Bryant Williams second and Ethan Patterson third. In the 200 it was a 1-2 Demon finish with Patterson winning the event in 24.10 seconds and Miller second. It was another 1-2 finish for Washington in 800m with Lance Sobaski winning gold in a time of 2:07.21 and Elijah Morris taking second. Other top finishes for the Demon boys included Spencer Sotelo runner up in the long jump, Brayden Hartman runner up in the shot put, Sobaski third in the 400, Reece Mayer third in the discus, and Ethan Zieglowsky fourth in the 60m hurdles.

The Washington girls got their event championship from Grace Voss in the 800m with a time of 2:42.70. Other top Demon finishes included Olivia Marek runner up in the 60m hurdles, Voss third in the 400 and high jump, Molly Klinzman third in the long jump and sixth in the 100m, Ally Rees third in the shot put and fifth in the discus, and Kourtney Moeller 11th in the 200m.

The Washington boys open the season March 25th at Case Field for the Steve Roth Relays while the Demon girls have their season opener at West Burlington March 30th.
