The next phase in hiring a new superintendent for the Lone Tree School District will go virtual.

School Board members are scheduled to interview eight semifinalists for the post Monday through Zoom meetings. The list of candidates will then be trimmed to three finalists for in-person interviews March 29th with two interview teams featuring a mix of students, teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and community members. Following the completion of the formal interviews, the Board will meet in closed session to make their final determination on offering a contract to the top candidate.

The district has conducted the search through Grundmeyer Leader Services and received 21 applications for the position as they look to replace Ken Crawford, who they shared with the Highland School District for the past three years. In January, Crawford submitted his Lone Tree resignation effective June 30th, and Highland recently entered a sharing agreement with WACO Schools in which Crawford will spend 70% of his time at Highland and 30% at WACO.
