A Murray woman faces a felony and other charges after an incident that occurred at the Riverside Casino & Golf Resort Monday.

Court documents show that at about 7:20 p.m., 31-year-old Amber Lyn Mondragon-Meacham admitted to being intoxicated and drinking beer. Several attempts were made to assist her with getting a ride but she created a scene in the parking lot. Physical force had to be used by Washington County Sheriff’s deputies to place hand restraints on the suspect and place her in the backseat of a patrol vehicle. She then allegedly spat in one of the deputies’ left eye, and urinated and spat in the backseat of the vehicle. Mondragon-Meacham made verbally abusive statements on the way to the Washington County Jail, and later refused to take a breath sample test. She also refused to say if she had any type of diseases which caused the deputy to go to the Mercy Hospital Emergency Room in Iowa City for multiple blood draws.

Mondragon-Meacham is charged with assault on persons in certain occupations with the intent to inflict serious injury, a class D felony; second-degree harassment, a serious misdemeanor; and interference with official acts, consumption of alcohol in a public place – first offense, and disorderly conduct, all simple misdemeanors. KCII will bring you more information as it becomes official.
