After the majority of their 2020 calendar of events was wiped out by COVID-19, the Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce is planning a full slate of activities in 2021.
Board Chair Lyndon Hershberger says the process of returning to normal begins next month, “That’s exactly right. We do intend to start our byways tours again towards the end of April. Obviously we want to keep them safe, we’ll require masks and social distance on the buses, sanitized between trips and that sort of thing, so yes, we are hoping to take steps towards more normal.”
Hershberger says the Kalona Quilt Show also returns April 22-24 and the farmer’s markets will resume the first week in June. He says making those events possible requires several volunteers and they have a variety of committees that could use your help. The Chamber is also looking to hire two, paid, part-time positions for a bookkeeper and an office manager who will also be creative services director.
