Three area boys’ track teams made a trip to West Burlington last night for the Falcon Relays.

Two divisions split up the meet with Washington in Class A and finishing fifth out of six with 77 points. Mount Pleasant took home gold with 134 points. Three events stood on top for the Demons led by Lance Sobaski winning the 1600m in 4:45 and the 800m in 2:09. Elijah Morris claimed the top spot in the 400m dash in 52.63 seconds. Other notable performances included Ethan Patterson second in 400m (53.11 seconds), distance medley second (4:22), Ethan Zieglowsky fourth in the 110m hurdles (18.99), and Kael Adam fourth in the discus (142’10’’). 

Winfield-Mt. Union placed fourth out of six in Class B with 74 points while Mediapolis won with 150. Dane Sweezer had the fastest time in the 110m hurdles clocking in at 18.02 seconds. Brody Barton was second in the 1600m (5:17), Talon Newton second in high jump (5’6’’), 4x800m relay second (9:34), distance medley second (4:12), and Cam Buffington fourth in 200m dash (24.97 seconds). Highland was sixth with 62 points. Brenton Bonebrake controlled the field events by winning the high jump in 5’8’’. The 4x100m (47.47 seconds) and 4x200m (1:39) each placed second while Devin Lovetinksy was third in shot put (40’11’’) and Connor Grinstead was third in the 200m dash (24.62 seconds).

The girls relays at West Burlington with the same schools will be tonight with the meet beginning at 4:30 p.m. For full results click on the link below.
