After the pandemic cancelled all of its youth summer camps in 2020, Crooked Creek Christian Camp south of Washington is ready for the kids to return in 2021.

Program Director Saralyn Murray Oyer says summer camp registration is open for first grade through high school aged youth, but they are limiting capacity to 50% for overnight camps due to COVID-19 safety concerns. The first summer camp opens June 10th. She says they’ve also added a day camp option to allow as many kids as possible to enjoy the camp experience.

Murray Oyer says they’re also in need of camp staffers to help deliver the fun, “We’re looking for counselors, cooks, housekeepers, maintenance people. It’s a fun way to spend your summer. It’s six weeks and you get to hang out with kids all summer, go swimming, water slides, lots of activities, it’s real fun.”

With COVID cancelling summer camps and group outings last year, Crooked Creek suffered financial losses totaling almost $100,000. They conducted an online auction in December that raised almost $26,000 and donations are still welcome.
