Packwood was the destination for the Ruritan Relays on Monday for a boys only meet and Lone Tree had a strong start to the new season.

The Lions finished third out of 10 teams with a score of 64 points while Pekin won their own meet with 124. Cade Patterson was the 400m hurdles champion by crossing the finish line in 1:06. Alex Viner grabbed valuable team points in the long jump placing second (18’11’), Kyle Anderson third in 100m (13.30 seconds), Alberto Cortes third in 800m (2:25), and the 4x800m relay was also third (10:19). Sigourney was also competing and placed fifth as a team with 57 points. The Savages made a statement in the 4x100m and 4x200m relays placing first in both events with times of 48.65 seconds and 1:43.3, respectively. The shuttle hurdle relay placed second (1:26), Gavin Sereg was second in the high jump (5’10’’), and Mason Moore was third in the 1600m (5:13) and 3200m (11:52). WACO was eighth on the night with 42 points. Four Warrior events claimed third place including Mason Miller in the 200m (25.69 seconds), Braden Spain in the 400m (56.73 seconds), Chase Waterhouse in the discus (98’9’’), and the sprint medley relay team (1:51).
