The Washington County Board of Supervisors approved a statement of understanding with Louisa County and the Southeast Iowa Link (SEIL) Region during their meeting Tuesday.

Disability Service Coordinator Bobbie Wulf explained how this statement is presented to the board annually to show how the SEIL staff is used locally for mental health and disability services. Wulf and support staff Cyndi Mears are shared between Washington and Louisa counties, with 66% of Wulf’s wages and benefits coming from Washington and 34% coming from Louisa, and 18% of Mears’ wages and benefits coming from Washington and 42% coming from Louisa. Wulf shares an update to her assigned duties, “We did make some changes this July. We are trying to streamline a lot of our practices so the things that I will be working on starting July 1st will be risk management, financial reporting, and claims administration. So focusing more on those aspects of the duties for this region.”

The board approved the statement, and Supervisor Jack Seward, Jr. mentioned his appreciation for the local mental health and disability services region that comprises eight counties.
