Three area track teams traveled to the Belle Plaine Girls Invitational on Tuesday including Sigourney, Lone Tree, and Keota.
The meet was broken up into two divisions and the Savages placed fifth out of eight in the A division with 60 points. Lynnville-Sully took home gold with 119. Kaylee Weber was an unstoppable thrower winning the discus in 91’10’’ and the shot put in 35’8.5’’. Teammate Macy Fisch also picked up valuable points in the same events placing third in the shot (29’11.5’’) and fourth in the discus (69’4’’). Lana Thomas had a fourth place finish in the 400m hurdles (1:27) while the 4x100m (1:08) and shuttle hurdle relays (1:22) each were third.
Lone Tree competed in the B division and placed eighth with 21 points while Montezuma was the team champion with 155. Dani Pettitt was second in the shot (26’1’’) while the 4x800m (15:20) and distance medley relay (6:06) each placed fifth. Keota recorded seven points with Nicole Clarahan placing third in the 100m hurdles (22.08) and sixth in the 100m dash (15.91).
