Adults cleaning out their closets this spring are encouraged to donate their professional attire to a local cause.
Washington for Justice is collecting gently used, clean business professional clothing for all sizes and genders. Those interested can drop off items at the Mills Seed Building (212 North Iowa Avenue) in Washington from 2:30-6:30 p.m. April 16th, or email the group to arrange for a porch pick up or drop off prior to April 22nd. The clothing will then be distributed during a resume and mock interview workshop the organization is hosting on April 30th and May 1st.
Washington for Justice Director Meredith Henderson shares why they are hosting the event, “Just an opportunity for people to come and get some help that they might not be able to receive elsewhere as far as interviewing and getting out there in the workforce. Especially after 2020 and so many people losing their jobs and having a safe place to come get those resources and that help.”
Those wanting to attend the workshop are encouraged to sign up for a time slot in advance, though walk-ins will also be accommodated. Zoom attendance is also offered, and you can find more information in this story at kciiradio.com.
