The first Southeast Iowa Super Conference golf meet of the year took place on Thursday at Blue Top Ridge in Riverside and Winfield-Mt. Union downed Lone Tree in a single dual.

The WMU boys shot a nine-hole score of 182 compared to Lone Tree’s 241. Brady Loyd was meet medalist with a 40 including a birdie on hole two. Jacob Kongable was runner-up with a 43, Bryce Wade 49, Carter Loyd 50, and scratch scores included Seth Schurr 52 and Isaac Schurr 58. The Lions’ top score was Sebastian Jacque with 56 and Adam Knock was not far behind with 58. Joe Boxwell shot a 60, Tyler Bell 67, Nick Floyd 72, and Tyce Alt 74.

The Lone Tree girls did not have enough for a team score so WMU won with a 249. Abbie Cooley was meet medalist with a 54 and Isabel Kann managed a 63. Other Wolves’ scores included Ava Hagge 65, Alli Humphries 67, Afton Wilkerson 74, and Aurey Meeker 74. The Lions’ Kylie Patterson recorded a 58, Allison Marshek 73, and Avery Grover 84.

WMU gets back on the course Tuesday at Burlington and Lone Tree will be in Columbus Junction on Thursday.
