The Washington boys and girls golf teams had their first Southeast Conference meets of the year on Thursday and both found success. 

The Demon girls put together a remarkable 18-hole score of 304 at Elks Golf Course in Keokuk. They blew away the five-team competition with second place Mount Pleasant shooting a 407. Kiki Bruner was meet medalist with a 74 while teammates Makenna Conrad and Anna Nacos each shot a 76. Josie Tanner rounded out the top four with a 78 and scratch scores included Kaylin Long 85 and Alecia Goff 102.

 The Demon boys traveled to Mount Pleasant Golf and Country Club for a nine-hole triangular. Washington shot a 175 to beat Keokuk’s 210, but they fell to the host Panthers with a 163. Roman Roth was runner-up meet medalist with a plus one 37 including a birdie on hole four. John Prochaska, Grant Sobaski, and Teague Mayer all had matching 46 scores to round out the recorded results. Scratch scores included Isaac Vetter 47 and Luke Beenblossom 55. 

The Demon boys get back on the links Tuesday in Kalona and the girls are off until April 19th when they travel to Ottumwa.
