The Lone Tree track teams went their separate ways on Thursday for a couple meets to close the week. 

The Lion girls traveled to West Branch for the Chad Gates Invitational where they placed sixth with 16 points and Maquoketa won the meet with 161. The 4x800m relay had the best finish in fourth place (14:33) and this team included Lilly Mills, Lila Bell, Layla McMartin, and Jordan Brown. Avery Lisk had a fourth place run in the 400m (1:15) and Brown was sixth in the 800m (3:36).

The boys traveled to West Burlington and placed fifth at the Falcon Relays. They recorded 56 points and West Burlington won the team title with 148. Two relays took home gold including the shuttle hurdle team (1:15) of Ethan Willoz, Andrew Gauley, Andrew Hotz, and Cade Patterson and the distance medley (4:04) of Alex Viner, Patterson, Cade Shield, and Nick Staltzman. Other top performances included Patterson second in the 400m hurdles (1:06), Shield fourth in the long jump (17’7.5’’), and Cale Christofferson fourth in the 400m (1:00).
