A lot of South Iowa Cedar League competition is what the Sigourney track teams saw on Thursday when they traveled to North Mahaska for the Warhawk Relays. 

The Savage boys placed fourth out of eight teams with 82 points and Pella Christian won the title with 181. Mason Moore continues to feast in the long distance events by placing first in the 1600m (4:58) and 3200m (10:59). Cade Molyneux had a strong showing in the 100m placing second (12.40), Karson Weber was right behind in third (12.52), the 4x200m relay was second, Gavin Sereg placed third in the high jump (5’10), and the 4x100m relay was third (48.31).

The Sigourney girls placed fifth out of eight teams with 82 points while Montezuma took home gold with 153. Two relays were crowned champions including the 4x100m of Rylee Goldman, Amiya Smallwood, Carly Goodwin, and Kaylee Weber (56.24) and the shuttle hurdle relay of Rain Barthelman, Smallwood, Mason Clarahan, and Goldman (1:16). Barthelman finished second in the 400m hurdles (1:17), Weber third in the discus (91’8’’) and shot put (31’2’’), and Carly Goodwin was third in the 200m (30.26).
