Washington County Public Health is moving to an online scheduling system as it prepares for its first healthy adult COVID-19 vaccine clinic next week.

The clinic is scheduled for 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, April 14th for anyone over the age of 18, and is for prime doses only. A date for boost dose appointments will be given at the clinic. While all Iowans over the age of 16 are eligible for vaccination, public health only carries Moderna, which is only approved for those 18 and older. An online scheduling system for the clinic will go live Monday at 8 a.m. on public health’s website. The public is urged not to “shop around” for a particular vaccine, but to take whichever one is available to you, as all brands are authorized and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
