The Mid-Prairie boys and girls golf teams are set to take on Tipton Monday night in a pair of River Valley Conference duals. The Golden Hawk girls are 2-2 on the season, falling to West Branch 206-237 at Cedar Edge last week. Madi Davidson led the Hawks with a 54. On the year, the Golden Hawks are paced by Davidson’s 60 average per nine holes. Tipton is 2-0 on the year with wins over Regina and Wilton. Last time out the Tigers beat the Beavers 211-240 on the road. Alli Nash led Tipton as meet medalist with a 39. On the season, Nash is the team leader with a 39 average. These two teams last met in 2019 with Tipton taking the dual 207-226.
The Mid-Prairie boys enter play tonight a mark of 1-3 after a 166-191 setback last Monday against West Branch. Dominic McCain is out to a terrific start for the Hawks, leading the team with a 39 average. Tipton is 2-0 on the season. Last time out they placed third with a team score of 343 at the 18-hole Solon Invitational at Lake MacBride Golf Course. The Tigers were led in the tournament by sophomore Tristin Sorgenfrey with a 76, taking third overall. Bob Ryan leads Tipton with a 40 average per nine holes. These two schools last met in 2019 with Mid-Prairie taking a 173-186 win. Action for the girls will be in Kalona, the boys travel to Tipton and both meets start at 4p.m. and continue into the evening.
