The first home meet of the year is tonight for the Lone Tree track teams and they welcome many area schools for the coed competition.
Area teams from Columbus Community, Highland, Keota, WACO, and Hillcrest Academy will join the Lions on the track. Lone Tree boys’ coach Mike Close tells KCII Sports trying to win their second meet in as many weeks is the goal tonight. “It is always fun running at home in front of family and friends that don’t get to come to away meets. This is a meet that we are trying to go out and get. You always try to load up your home meet and score as many points as possible. I think the guys are excited for that opportunity again.”
Other schools participating include New London, Tri-County, and Wapello. All of the action begins at 4:30 p.m. this evening in Lone Tree.
