Washington County Public Health is holding a COVID-19 vaccine clinic for anyone 18 years and older Wednesday.
The clinic will be held from 2-6 p.m. at their office at 110 North Iowa Avenue in Washington. The department will be administering the Moderna vaccine, which is currently only authorized for those 18 and older. They are moving to an online scheduling system for this clinic, which goes live at 8 a.m. Monday on the Washington County Public Health website. This clinic is only for prime doses, and a date for participants’ boost dose will be given at the time of their appointment. Washington County Public Health urges those 16 and older to get whichever vaccine is available to them as soon as possible, as the B.1.1.7 variant is prevalent in Iowa, and is said to spread more easily than the original strain.
