The Hillcrest Academy Raven soccer team faces a tall task Thursday when they take on top ranked Burlington Notre Dame in a Southeast Iowa Superconference match in Kalona. Hillcrest enters play with a record of 1-0 after beating Highland 5-2 last week. The Ravens were led in the match by Will Kolck with a hat trick. Aiden Krabill had three saves in goal.

Notre Dame comes into the match at 4-0 on the year. They are ranked No. 1 in class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. They have outscored their opponents 21-2 through their first four contests, including three shut outs and a 17-0 total score against Superconference opponents. The Nikes have wins over Davenport Assumption, Fort Madison, Central Lee and Mediapolis. On the year Notre Dame is led by Cole Ward with seven goals and Parker Davis with three assists. In total, 10 different players have accounted for at least one assist and seven have scored a goal. The Ravens have won 9 of the last 12 in the series, but the Nikes have won the last two. Action begins tonight at 6p.m. on the campus of Hillcrest Academy.
