The first home meet of the season is tonight for the Winfield-Mt. Union girls’ track team and a few area schools will make the trip.
Columbus Community and WACO will join the Wolves on the track. WMU Head Coach Amanda Hemsworth tells KCII Sports the team is ready to compete on their home turf. “It will be nice to be home and have the support of the fans especially since we didn’t have that opportunity last year. We are hosting four of them this year so it will be nice to go out and run. Hopefully the weather can cooperate and we will see what happens.” Other schools participating include Danville, Louisa-Muscatine, Mediapolis, and West Burlington/Notre Dame.
The meet gets underway at 5 p.m. this evening in Winfield.
