Latinos for Washington, Inc. and Washington County Public Health are holding a bilingual COVID-19 vaccine clinic for those 18 years and older tomorrow.

The clinic will last from 10 a.m.-noon at the public health office located on the fifth floor of the Federation Bank building in Washington, and Latinos for Washington Secretary and county public Health i-Smile Dental Coordinator Martha Hernandez says they have around 50 people registered so far, “We wanted to get this clinic going just because there was a lot of barriers for the Hispanic community or Latino community in getting vaccinated. There was still a lot of myths and other obstacles such as information about the COVID vaccine not being in Spanish, so we kind of just decided to work together with Washington County Public Health and organize this clinic.”

Public health will be administering the first dose of the Moderna vaccine, and bilingual volunteers will be on hand to help answer questions and fill out paperwork for Spanish speaking residents who attend. Hernandez says they are still taking vaccine appointments, and you can call 319-653-7758 ext. 115 to sign up.
