A Washington man was arrested on several charges early Wednesday morning.

The Washington County Communications Center received a call at 12:11 a.m. from someone witnessing a suspect going through vehicles in the 1000 block of East 3rd Street in Washington. The Washington Police Department responded and arrested 18-year-old Chase Robert Messamaker for public intoxication – first offense, a simple misdemeanor, and was cited for possession of tobacco under the legal age. Charges are also pending for burglary of an unattended vehicle, a class D felony, and possession of a controlled substance pending lab results.
