The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls track and field team were champions at Thursday’s Tigerette Relays in Tipton. The Golden Hawks won the meet with 150 points, beating Northeast Goose Lake’s second place total of 130.5. Mid-Prairie won gold in six different events on the night including Maddie Edgington with two individual titles, winning the 100 in 12.98 seconds and the 200 in 27.44 seconds. Mid-Prairie provided a 1-2 punch in the 800 with Mitzi Evans winning the event in 2:24.51 and Sydney Yoder finishing second. They also went 1-3 in the 3000 with Yoder claiming the title in 10:56.64 and Ana Fleming finishing third. Danielle Hostetler won the 1500 with a time of 4:57.95 and Tori Boyse was the shot put winner with a throw of 37′.25″.

Other top finishes for Mid-Prairie included second for Boyse in the discus, runner-up for Amara Jones in the 400 hurdles, second for the 4×800 team and third for the 4×400, sprint medley and shuttle hurdle teams. The Golden Hawks will next be in action Monday when they travel to Hudson.
