The Mid-Prairie boys and girls soccer teams travel to the Martin Sports Complex tonight to meet Cedar Valley Christian for a non-conference doubleheader. The Mid-Prairie boys come into the game with an overall record of 3-0. They are ranked No. 8 in class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. The Hawks have won their first three matches by a combined 18-2 score, including an 8-1 victory over Tipton Tuesday. On the year, the Hawks are led by Owen Trimpe’s five goals. Ethan Trimpe paces the Hawks with four assists. In goal, Keaton Graber has worked 205 minutes with a 71.4% save percentage.

Cedar Valley Christian is 0-3 on the season with losses to West Liberty, West Branch and Marquette Catholic. The Huskies have not scored on the season dropping the three matches by a combined 20-0 score. Mid-Prairie is undefeated all-time against the Huskies, winning all nine matches by a combined 46-5 score including a 4-0 win in 2019.

The Mid-Prairie girls are 2-1 on the season. They beat Tipton 6-1 on Tuesday. For the year, the Hawks are led by Esther Hughes with six goals. Kaitlin Martin has a team best three assists and in goal, Emily Swartzentruber has worked 145 minutes with a 65% save percentage.

Cedar Valley Christian is 0-4 this year, dropping matches to Marquette Catholic, Hudson, West Branch and West Liberty. The Huskies have been outscored 17-2 across those four games. Brooklyn Nafts and Savannah Stout each have one goal for CVC with Stout adding an assist. Sophia Creager has 240 minutes in goal with a 68% save percentage. The Golden Hawks are 2-1 all-time against Cedar Valley Christian with the Huskies taking a 7-1 win in their last meeting. The doubleheader starts tonight at 5p.m. at the Martin Sports Complex.
