The first home meet of the season was a strong one for the Winfield-Mt. Union golf teams on Thursday when they swept Southeast Iowa Super Conference opponent Mediapolis.

The girls recorded a nine-hole score of 228 to best the Bulldogs’ 296. Abbie Cooley was meet medalist with a 51 and Ava Hagge was runner-up with a 56. Alli Humphreys tallied a 59 and Aurey Meeker rounded out the scoring with a 62. Scratch scores included Isabel Kann 70 and Afton Wilkerson 78.

The WMU boys recorded a 183 team score compared to Mediapolis with a 224. Brady Loyd had the top score of the day with a 40 including a birdie on hole five. Jacob Kongable was next in line with a 43, Bryce Wade 48, and Seth Schurr 52. Other scores included Carter Loyd with a 54 and Isaac Schurr 58. 

The Wolves return home Monday against Wapello.
