Three KCII area track squads were in action last week at the Winfield-Mt. Union Girls Invitational. The Danville Bears won the team title with 174 points. Top area finish came from the WACO Warriors in fourth of seven teams with 84 points. WACO was led by a pair in the 100 hurdles with Molly McLaughlin taking second and Zoey Dennler third. In the 400 hurdles Dennler posted another third place finish. In the 3000 Avery Waterhouse was also third.

The Winfield-Mt. Union girls were fifth of seven teams at their home meet with 56 points.

Columbus was sixth with 44 points. The Wildcats had two championship events on the night with Michelle Diaz winning the shot put with a throw of 35’4″ and Libby White the discus, throwing 100’1″. Other top finishes for the Wildcats included Olivia Carrier third in the 100 and 200 and Avery Sipes third in the 1500.
