The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls soccer teams posted wins in both ends of a River Valley Conference doubleheader at Anamosa Tuesday. The Golden Hawk girls were 5-2 winners. Mid-Prairie fell behind early 2-0 but were able to score once before half to cut the deficit to 2-1 going to the break. The second half was all Golden Hawks as Mid-Prairie scored four unanswered goals to pull away for the win. Esther Hughes and Sophie Baker each scored twice for Mid-Prairie, Evelyn Gerber also added a goal. Mid-Prairie is now 4-2 on the season.

The No. 8 ranked Golden Hawk boys remained unbeaten with a 5-0 shut out win over the Blue Raiders. Yasmin Ahmed put the Hawks on the board with a goal in the 18th minute assisted by Jack Pennington. Ahmed doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, this time on an assist from Zeus Fugate and that’s where the lead stood at the half. In the second half, Jack Pennington scored one of his own in the 46th minute on a Tucker Miller assist to make it 3-0 and then Pennington struck again in the 73rd minute to run the score to 4-0 on a Ryan Jones assist. Jones then finished the scoring with a 76th minute goal on an Owen Trimpe helper. Keaton Graber turned in a clean sheet for the Hawks in goal as the Mid-Prairie defense locked down and didn’t allow a Blue Raider shot in the match. With the win, Mid-Prairie is now 4-0 on the season.
