Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman will be packed with area athletes Thursday when Mid-Prairie hosts their annual girls relays. Last time out, the Golden Hawks were team champions at Tipton a week ago where they posted 150 points on the strength of six event championships. Maddie Edgington was a two time winner, taking the 100 and 200. The Golden Hawks went 1-2 in the 800 with Mitzi Evans winning the event and Sydney Yoder taking second. The Hawks were 1-3 in the 3000 with Yoder the champion and Ana Fleming third. Danielle Hostetler was the winner in the 1,500 and Tori Boyse in the shot put.

The Golden Hawks will also be represented at Drake Stadium in Des Moines today for the Drake Relays in seven different events including Mitzi Evans in the 400, 800 and as a member of the 4×100 team, Tori Boyse in the discus and shot put, and Danielle Hostetler in the 1,500 and 3,000. The Golden Hawks will be joined at their home meet tonight by Alburnett, Fairfield, Mediapolis, Pekin, Solon, West Branch, West Liberty and Williamsburg. Action starts at 4p.m. and continues into the evening at Dwight G. Sattler Field in Wellman.
