The first trip of the spring to Des Moines was on Thursday for a few Washington boys track members when the Demons had three events competing in the annual Drake Relays.

The distance medley relay team of Ethan Patterson, Jacob Miller, Elijah Morris, and Lance Sobaski had the best team finish in 17th out of 24 with a time of 3:43.32. Sobaski ran a few hours earlier in the 3200m and clocked in at 9:46.95 for 21st place. Running less than 20 minutes prior in the distance medley, Morris turned around to compete in the 400m dash and did not complete the race after falling down on a turn. 

The Demons hope to make a return trip to Drake Stadium in a month for the state track and field championships on May 20-22nd.
