A Brighton man was recently sentenced to serve up to 27 years in prison for several offenses.

County Attorney John Gish states that following a thorough ongoing investigation led by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, narcotics-related search warrants were executed at 41-year-old Steven Haberberger’s residence on December 19, 2019 and May 21, 2020. Haberberger was charged and arrested on May 21, and he posted bond on November 20, 2020, but was arrested on January 6th of this year for an assault. Haberberger also assaulted a sheriff’s deputy during the course of the most recent arrest.

He pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, both class B felonies, one count of possession of a controlled substance – third or subsequent offense – a class D felony, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor, and assault on a peace officer, a serious misdemeanor.
