The Mid-Prairie School District is making adjustments to their guidelines for mask usage on school buses.

According to a statement issued by Superintendent Mark Schneider, the district’s legal counsel advised they adopt the policy in which all school bus riders including regular routes, shuttles and extra-curricular trips be required to wear masks unless they are unable to because of medical reasons or disability. This change was dictated by an order from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention requiring all persons on conveyances, including school buses, to wear masks. This policy change will be in effect until further notice.

The district will still continue their building policy set forth in their April 19th board meeting which requires face masks if a school building’s total student absenteeism rate is 3% or above.
