The Sigourney golf teams had a pair of home meets on Wednesday and Thursday and had mixed results.

The Savage boys hosted Montezuma and Van Buren on Wednesday for a triangular and finished third on the day. The Braves shot a 169 to edge the Warriors’ 170 and Sigourney finished the nine-hole meet with a 178. Josh Mohr placed third with a 40, Brock Halleran had a 46, Clay Morse 46, and Kale Clarahan 46. Scratch scores included Cade Streigle 48 and Levi Crawford 51.

The next day both the boys and girls won a heads up dual with BGM. The boys shot a 173 compared to the Bears’ 221. Morse led the team with a 40, Mohr 41, Halleran 45, Streigle 47, Crawford 48, and Bo Schmidt 55. BGM did not have enough for a girls score so the Savages won with a 195. Lily Schmidt and Madelynn Hornback tied for meet medalist honors with matching scores of 45, Maizy Cowman had a 51 and Claire Svenby rounded out the scoring with a 54. Other results included Sidney Morse 56 and Julia VanEe 61. 

The Savage girls get back on the course Tuesday in Oskaloosa and the boys are off until May 10th for the South Iowa Cedar League tournament.
