The highlight of the season thus far for the Sigourney girls’ golf team came on Thursday when they traveled to Ottumwa and won the Corky Nydle Invitational.
The Savages won the six team 18-hole tournament by carding a 428 to beat out second place Indianola with a 448. Lily Schmidt had the best team finish in third with a 101 and Madelynn Hornback was not far behind with 104. Claire Svenby had a 110, Maizy Cowman 113, Sidney Morse 116, and Reggie Talbert 118.
The Savage girls next compete in the South Iowa Cedar League tournament tomorrow. The boys tournament is today at Oakland Acres in Grinnell.
