A Washington man’s probation was recently revoked for original charges of third degree theft and forgery.

Court documents show that 23-year-old Brandon James Ferdig was recently ordered to serve the original sentences of five years in prison for the forgery offense and two years in prison for the theft offense to be served concurrently at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Iowa City. Ferdig shall receive credit for time served, and pay court-appointed attorney fees and court costs. Ferdig violated his probation twice for the original offenses that occurred in February and July of 2019. He stole two chainsaws from the Washington Ace and More store and sold one of them, and attempted to cash an unauthorized check at Federation Bank in Washington.
