At a special meeting of the Wayland City Council last week, Dustin Stuelke was offered the city’s Police Chief position. Stuelke would be paid $17.50 per hour and his tenure would begin on July 1st. The decision was made on a 3-2 vote with Melinda Ullery, Aaron Barnhart and Kathie Grimm voting in favor and Caylon DeVaul and Jamie Roth against. Stuelke would be replacing current Police Chief Ron Roth who submitted his resignation in February to be effective July 26th. Roth has served in the position since April of 2002.
